Commission rate table
Commission is calculated on the item subtotal (sale price, excluding delivery and taxes). The rate is determined by the product's price. The full commission goes to the affiliate who referred the sale. You are never charged extra on top of this.
How commission is calculated
Commission is applied to the item subtotal only, meaning the product price the buyer pays, before delivery fees or taxes. The rate is determined by that price at the time of purchase.
Example A, low-price item: A skincare product sold at ₦12,000 with a ₦1,500 delivery fee.
Price tier: ₦0 – ₦199,999 → 15% commission.
Commission deducted: ₦12,000 × 15% = ₦1,800 (goes to the affiliate)
You receive: ₦12,000 − ₦1,800 + ₦1,500 delivery = ₦11,700 at payout.
Example B, high-value item: A laptop sold at ₦850,000.
Price tier: ₦600,000 – ₦999,999 → 8% commission.
Commission deducted: ₦850,000 × 8% = ₦68,000 (goes to the affiliate)
You receive: ₦850,000 − ₦68,000 = ₦782,000 at payout.
What is not included in the commission base
- Delivery charges: passed through to you in full; not subject to commission.
- Taxes (VAT): collected and remitted by you where applicable.
- Cancelled or refunded orders: no commission is charged on orders cancelled before dispatch or refunded due to return or dispute.
Commission rate changes
AwaOwn will provide a minimum of 14 days' written notice by email before any change to published commission rates. Rate changes are never applied retroactively. The rate in effect when an order is placed is the rate used for that order's payout.
